A Scribane chest of drawers in mottled mahogany from Saint-Domingue, moulded and carved. It opens via an upper flap resting on two pull-handles, revealing 14 compartments, 4 drawers and 3 secret compartments. It features a band entirely carved with shells, foliage scrolls and volutes against a partially latticed background. It opens via two columns of three drawers with domed fronts, framing a solid arched door in the centre.
Light ornamentation of chiselled and gilded bronze on the pull handles and keyholes.
It stands on four slightly arched legs (front right leg missing)
18th-century regional piece from the port area (made before 1947)
