David GUERON (1892–1950), known as DEGUE, for the CRISTALLERIE DE COMPIEGNE
A pair of bedside lamps in satin-finished pressed moulded glass, decorated with daisies and juxtaposed flowers. They are mounted on a square-section, black-lacquered wrought-iron base, flanked by four twisted columns along the vertical edges
Signed in slight relief within the decoration and marked ‘Compiègne’ beneath the lampshades

Founder and owner of the Verrerie d’Art Degué company in Paris (1926–1939), David GUERON signed his works with the DEGUE label; he began by establishing the Cristalleries de Compiègne in the early 1920s before moving to Paris in 1926, where he set up a factory on Boulevard Malesherbes and a shop at 41 Avenue de" Paris in the capital’s 12th arrondissement.
