Description
An XIII flintlock pommel pistol, French cavalry regulation of the First Empire, dated 1813. Manufacture Impériale de Charleville (in faint cursive letters on the lock). Original hammer, bronze bassinet, original steel bassinet cover. The hammer works perfectly when armed and half armed. Overall length 36 cm including 20 cm barrel, muzzle diameter 17.7 mm. All parts stamped with the T to the crown. Homogeneous weapon, except changed ramrod. Superb wood with splendid stamps of which the round EF 1813 and a reason in blazon. Metal with light oxidation. Marking 2 on the steel piece of reinforcement of the back of stick (recall of the endowment of a pair by rider). In the wood, at the level of the lock, presence of 3 voluntary notches of sinister significance. A good regulation weapon of the cavalry of the First Empire.
