Description
AN XIII flintlock pommel pistol. French cavalry regulation of the First Empire, dated 1809. Manufacture Manufacture Impériale de Charleville (in very legible cursive letters on the lock). Original hammer, bronze bassinet, original steel bassinet cover. The hammer works perfectly when cocked and half cocked. Overall length 36 cm including 20 cm barrel, muzzle diameter 17.7 mm. All parts stamped with the T to the crown. Metal with slight oxidation. The hammer in particular has been cleaned with acid in the past. A simple polish should restore it to its former glory. Homogeneous weapon, except for a changed ramrod. Wood with handling wear. And a capital L engraved underneath. A good early regulation weapon of the First Empire cavalry. Assisted by Mr Etienne Gaillard (06 63 13 63 66 - [email protected])
