IMPERIAL ALMANAC FOR THE YEAR M. DCCC. VI, presented to His Majesty the Emperor and King, by Testu.
Paris: Testu, [1806]. - In-8, 220 x 135 : 846 pp, (1 f.). Red morocco, gilt roulettes framing the boards, gilt AMJS numeral in the centre, within a gilt shield surmounted by an imperial eagle haloed by stars and supporting a cross of the Légion d'honneur, smooth spine decorated with crowned eagles, inner gilt roulette, blue silk lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding).
Official almanac of the Empire in 1806. This was the first time Napoleon was presented in the dual capacity of "Emperor and King".
Copy on strong wove paper, from the library of Antoine-Jean-Mathieu Séguier (1768-1848), with his cipher on the boards, maître des requêtes, first president of the Court of Appeal of Paris, appointed baron of the Empire in 1808 and peer of France in 1815.
Spine faded. Some rubbing from use, a small epidermis on the second cover.
