The engravings in these Hours are based on models by Jean Pichore. They are skilfully enhanced and painted to give the illusion of an illuminated manuscript by an artist working in Germain Hardouyn's workshop. Jean Pichore, an "illuminator and historian" who was once considered to be from Rouen, was documented in Paris between 1502 and 1520. He was a versatile artist who produced both manuscripts and printed books of hours. He was himself a printer for a time (Hours in 1504 in collaboration with Rémy de Laistre).
Colophon (sig. O8): "Tout pour le mieulx.
