Paris: Toussaint Du Bray, 1615. - In-8, 177 x 114 : (4 ff.), 1080 pp. Jansenist black morocco, spine ribbed and decorated, inner gilt lace, gilt edges (Huser). Lachèvre, Bibliographie des recueils collectifs de poésies publiés de 1597 a 1700, 1901, I, pp. 49-52. First edition of this poetic anthology published by the poet François de Rosset (1571-1630?), dedicated to Louise-Marguerite de Lorraine, Princess of Conti (1574-1631). It contains poems by Jacques Du Perron (1556-1618), Jean Bertaut (1552-1611), François de Malherbe (1555-1628), Nicolas Vauquelin Des Yveteaux (1567-1649), Honoré d'Urfé (1567-1625), Adrien de Monluc (1571-1646), François de Cauvigny, sieur de Colomby (c. 1588-1648), Pierre Motin (1566-1613?), Pierre Forget (1578-1638), Pierre d'Avity (1573-1635), Jean de Lingendes (1580?-1616), Timothée-René, sieur de L'Espine (15..-1610), Raoul Cailler (1561-16..), François Maynard (1582-1646), Charles Piard, sieur de Vinfrainville et de Thouvan (15..-1613), Daniel Du Monstier (1574-1646), etc. and ends with poems by François de Rosset. Lachèvre tells us that: "This collection of 1615, the second by Toussainct du Bray, contains 347 pieces, two of which are duplicates, making a total of 345 pieces: 98 are new, 140 come from the Nouveau recueil des plus beaux vers de 1609 and 107 have been published previously" (Lachèvre, I, p. 51). A second edition of this collection appeared in 1618 and the sequel, announced in the privilege, was not published until 1620. A fine copy bound by Huser. Washed copy, very skilful restorations to the title, to the third leaf and to the upper corners of the last leaves.
