Paris: Éditions d'art Devambez, 1928. - In-4 oblong, 225 x 282 : (38 ff. 3 first and 2 last blank), 13 plates, illustrated cover. Dark blue morocco, gilt Greek frame on covers, smooth spine decorated with two gilt stylised flowers, gilt fillets and motifs framing inside, grey moiré silk lining and endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, lined slipcase (Canape et Corriez 1930). First edition of this "very useful work, composed, decorated, illustrated and enriched with learned dissertations by André LAMBERT". The illustrations include various ornaments in black and red as well as 13 original etchings in colour. The edition was limited to 401 copies. This is one of the first 14 copies on Japon à la forme, and more precisely one of the 13 (no. 9), containing the etchings in 3 states and an original signed drawing, in this case for the last plate (Bacchus, Amour, Psyché). It also includes a suite of ornaments on japon. A very fine copy bound at the time by Canape et Corriez. Rubbing to the slipcase.
