LÉGER (Fernand). Les Constructeurs. Paris: Falaize, [1951]. - In-8 oblong, 141 x 225 : (15 ff. last blank), 8 ff. reproductions, illustrated cover. Paperback, filled cover. First edition, published on the occasion of the Fernand Léger exhibition at the Maison de la Pensée Française in Paris. It includes an unpublished text by Claude Roy and a poem by Paul Éluard, faithfully reproduced in handwritten facsimile. The book is illustrated with eight compositions by Fernand Léger, including one in colour on the front cover and seven full-page illustrations. The edition also includes nineteen black photographic reproductions on eleven sheets of coated paper. One of 250 numbered copies on Arches vellum (no. 218), accompanied by an original colour lithograph by Fernand Léger, signed with the artist's initials. The lithograph depicts a still life. A copy for Elsa Triolet and Louis Aragon, with this autograph signed letter from the artist on the first page: a Elsa // a Aragon // avec mon amitié // F Léger Minor scattered foxing. The lithograph paper is browned.
