OFFICER’S UNIFORM SWORD, Vendémiaire Year XII staff officer type. Wooden hilt, watermark missing. Gilded and chiselled brass mountings, pommel featuring a plumed helmet, single-bar guard, body knot decorated with ancient trophies, straight quillons with leaf motifs. Foliated half-shell pommel. Flat-backed blade, engraved, gilded and blued to one-third of its length. Length: 100 cm. A.B.E. (Signs of wear). SF.
