[ARAGON (Louis)]. Le Con d’Irène. n.p. [Paris], published by the author [Jean-Jacques Pauvert], 1952. 8vo, paperback. A very fine and rare out-of-print edition, laid out by Hans Bellmer and published by Jean-Jacques Pauvert.
This is the third edition of *Le Con d’Irène*, following the original 1928 edition—printed clandestinely in a run of 150 copies—and a poor-quality counterfeit produced in 1948 with the intention of harming the author.
One of the 100 first-edition copies on Arches laid paper, adorned with an original engraving by Hans Bellmer.
The standard edition, printed in a run of 2,000 copies, was published under the less explicit title *Irène*; it does not feature this frontispiece.
A paperback copy in fine condition.
