[COINTRE (Marie-Thérèse)]. *Life of a Prostitute*. Unabridged edition. No place, at my own expense, undated [René Bertelé], [1948]. In-16, blue percaline Bradel binding, smooth spine decorated with an embossed title label, untrimmed, cover (contemporary binding). Unabridged version of this text, first published in 1947 in an expurgated form in Jean-Paul Sartre’s journal *Les Temps modernes*. On the reverse of the title page is a facsimile of a page from the manuscript. This autobiographical account was banned in 1950. A unique copy, enriched with 11 erotic photographs (ranging from 4 x 6 cm to 11 x 9 cm) mounted on interleaved sheets, and a handwritten quotation from the *Chants de Maldoror* by the Comte de Lautréamont (1 p. in-16, in black ink): ‘I have made a pact with prostitution in order to sow discord amongst families…’ The whole is mounted on tabs.
