Description
[FLEURET (Fernand)]. *Le Carquois du sieur Louvigné du Dézert*, a native of Rouen, based on fragments of an unpublished manuscript, and preceded by a biography of the author by his son. Paris: Éditions du Monde nouveau, 1923. Small quarto, paperback, green paper cover with embossing, untrimmed. A new edition of these charming satirical and gallant poems by Fernand Fleuret, illustrated with 5 original etchings outside the text, a frontispiece and numerous headpieces and tailpieces by Demetrius Galanis.
One of 235 copies printed on Holland vellum.
This copy is enriched with:
- an autograph dedication signed by the author: ‘To my dear poet and friend Chalvet, with warm regards, Louvigné du Dézert’;
- 13 pages of proofs from the work, hand-corrected by the author, 13 loose folios,
- 7 additional states of the engravings, each signed in the artist’s own hand,
- 2 autograph letters signed by the author, 1 p. in-12 and half a page in-8, in black ink, one addressed to the great poet Paul Fort, the other to his dear friend Mr Chalvet regarding the publication of *Le Carquois* (envelope enclosed).
- the catalogue of a Galanis exhibition in 1922 at the Galerie Licorne, with a preface by André Malraux, an illustrated in-12 booklet, uncut.
