Description
LUCA (Ghérasim). Signed autograph postcard addressed to André Breton. Lacoste, 1 January 1962. Postcard written by Ghérasim Luca, a Surrealist poet of Romanian origin, containing a short poem:
‘At the Château de Sade,
the stone wavers between
the ruins and the quarry,
hence its ultimate failure.’
Followed by his signature: ‘Bird to bird, with all my heart, Ghérasim Luca’.
Lacoste Castle, the Sade family home, was the scene of many of the divine Marquis de Sade’s exploits until the building was destroyed during the French Revolution.
