MAN RAY and Paul ÉLUARD. *Les Mains libres*. Drawings by Man Ray illustrated with poems by Paul Éluard. Paris, Jeanne Bucher, 1937. In-4, paperback. First edition, featuring 67 full-page black-and-white reproductions of Man Ray’s compositions. Unnumbered copy on laid paper. Autograph dedication signed by Man Ray and countersigned by Paul Éluard to the poet Luc Decaunes: ‘To Luc Decaunes, with warm regards’. Luc Decaunes associated with the Surrealists from a very young age. He became a close friend of Paul Éluard and married his daughter, Cécile Éluard, in 1938. Cover edges rubbed, pinholes on the edges, a few foxing spots, spine partially detached.
