MANSOUR (Joyce). Julius Caesar. Paris, Pierre Seghers, 1955. Narrow 12mo, untrimmed, publisher’s cardboard binding. First edition illustrated with five copperplate engravings by Hans Bellmer, executed with a point and burin. One of 99 copies printed on Rives vellum. Born in England to an Egyptian Jewish family and based in Paris from 1954 onwards, Joyce Mansour (1928–1986) became one of the leading voices of post-war Surrealism. The first few pages are loose.
