Description
[PÉRET (Benjamin)]. SATYREMONT. *Les Rouilles encagées*. Paris, Éric Losfeld, 1954. In-12, paperback. First edition, published by subscription and printed in a small run: it was partly destroyed. It is illustrated with seven plates printed in green by Yves Tanguy, ‘whose tongue-in-cheek vulgarity reflects the graffiti found in public toilets’, according to the Dictionnaire des œuvres érotiques. The cover bears the title, in the form of a palindrome, *Les Rouilles encagées*.
The book was due to be published in 1928, but a police raid on Bonnel’s premises prevented this. “The pages that had already been printed were seized. It was the first erotic novel written entirely in automatic writing” (Eros au secret, 209).
