The artist Remedios Varo (1908–1963) was a Surrealist painter. In 1936, Remedios Varo took part in the Logicofobista exhibition held at the Galeria Catalonia in Barcelona and met Benjamin Péret, who had come to fight alongside the anarchists of the Durruti Column on the Teruel front. They married and settled in Paris in 1937, then moved to Mexico together but separated in 1947.
