Bibliography :
* This cabinetmaker was established until the Revolution on rue de Cléry, where he produced very fine quality chairs, very meticulous, simple but delicately carved. Most are in the Louis XVI style, with medallion, square or basket handle backs. Rigorous lines, tapered legs with curved flutes. Chevigny worked for the Duc de Choiseul at the Château de Chanteloup and for the Duc de Montmorency. To the first named, he delivered a set of 24 gilded wooden salon seats, carved with interlacing, which have since passed into the possession of the Tours Chamber of Commerce.
