A pair of high-backed giltwood armchairs à la Reine. The pediment is carved with a leaf connecting the armrests. They stand on four tapered, fluted and filleted legs with floret connectors. Very fine cotton upholstery decorated with juxtaposed squares in mustard and taupe velvet. One stamped "C. CHEVIGNY" for Claude CHEVIGNY, received Master on 27 April 1768 Louis XVI period - 18th century Height: 98 cm each Bibliography : * This cabinetmaker was established until the Revolution on rue de Cléry, where he produced very fine quality chairs, very meticulous, simple but delicately carved.
