The Holy League was a coalition formed in 1576 to oppose Henry IV. It was made up of French Catholics unhappy with Henry IV's policy of religious tolerance. The League played an important role in the Wars of Religion in France and was finally dissolved in 1593 after Henry IV's conversion to Catholicism.
