Pieter Brueghel the Elder (after) (c. 1525–c. 1569) Magdalena Poenitens (The Penitent Magdalene). (Plate from a series of 12 large landscapes). Circa 1553–1556. Etching and engraving by Jan and Lucas van Doetecum. 432 x 320 mm. Lebeer 3; Hollstein 8; New Hollstein (Bruegel) 51. A very fine print on laid paper, trimmed below the title block, with margin lines on the other three sides. An old pencil inscription in the title block on the right, with a small tear. Vertical centre crease. Several thinning areas in the corners and at the edges of the sheet on the reverse, visible through the paper. A few small wormholes.
