Description
Charles Méryon (1821–1868) The Clock Tower. 1852. Etching and burin. 186 x 260 mm. Delteil 28; Schneiderman 23. A fine print on fly-weight China paper, from the 6th state (out of 10), featuring the letter in cursive script, prior to the new cut-outs in the tower’s triangular roof; mounted with two tabs onto Bristol board at the top (resulting in slight rippling). Numerous small foxing spots. Very slight tears in two corners. Good margins. Expert: Hélène BONAFOUS-MURAT.
