A rare and interesting proof on satin paper, mounted on card, with a pencil annotation on the side: ‘Portrait of Benjamin Péret by Toyen – Rejected proof / For Vincent, a trial print on silk, François Di Dio’. Very faint traces of oxidation caused by the glue. All margins intact.
François Di Dio (1921–2005) was a French writer and publisher, founder of the publishing house Le Soleil noir.
