Toyokuni III / Utagawa Kunisada (1786–1864) and Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797–1861). Three framed oban-sized prints. The subject of the first print (part of a diptych or triptych) by Utagawa Kunisada is probably linked to the Battle of Ichi-no-Tami or to a Kabuki play inspired by it. Dimensions: 36.3 × 24.2 cm. Margins not visible. Stains. The second print by Kuniyoshi depicts the actor Iwai Kumesaburo playing the character ‘Oju by a stream and a weeping willow’. Dimensions: 34.5 × 23.7 cm. Stains and missing sections. Invisible margins. The final print by Utagawa Kunisada is from the series ‘Edo Caprices’ and is titled ‘The Night of Secret Rendezvous in the Moonlight’.
