Telescopic fan, circa 1780
Folded fan, with a so-called pocket or telescopic system, the double sheet of silk painted with loves in side cartels, and portraits, of a young man and a young woman, hanging from a palm tree. In the centre, a gallant scene by the water.
Reverse: pink flowers painted in the centre.
The ivory frame has a pocket or telescopic system. When the fan is closed, the blades slide inside the leaf to reduce the size of the fan and make it easier to carry. The throat is decorated with a vase and flowers, engraved and gilded.
Height 28.5 cm - H.f. 13.3 cm
