Folded fan, the paper leaf lined with skin and painted in gouache of the union of Zephyr and Flora, surrounded by lovers.
The seasons are symbolised by the flowers of Spring, the fruits of Autumn and the fire for Winter on the right.
The reverse shows an isolated monastery on an island in the mountains. Perhaps a reference to the life of Saint Anthony?
Mounted in carved bone, engraved and gilded with a basket of flowers and horns of plenty.
The plumes are enriched with mother-of-pearl plaques.
