A folded fan with a double sheet of lithographed paper showing three scenes inspired by medieval history. In the centre, a knight kisses the hand of a lady of quality surrounded by a court. The engraver's name can be read on the border "Rosenthal".
Extensive gilding around the edges. Reverse decorated with three bouquets of flowers in gilded rocaille cartels.
Initials "BLD" on the right and "2256" on the left.
Mounted in finely carved imported ivory. The plumes are pierced, carved and engraved with flowers.
