Set of 5 photographs from astronaut Walter Schirra’s Mercury-Atlas 8 mission
- 2 photographs of Cooper helping his fellow astronaut Walter Schirra into the Mercury Sigma-7 capsule on the day of the Mercury-Atlas 8 launch, 3 October 1962: Gordon Cooper was in fact the backup astronaut for this mission. Original NASA black-and-white prints (20cm x 25cm) with captions on the reverse, bearing the numbers 62-MA8-99 and 62-MA8-105.
