SURVEYOR PROGRAMME – The programme comprised seven Surveyor probes (30 May 1966 to 20 February 1968). Surveyor 1 was the first American probe to land on the Moon. In total, five Surveyor probes landed on the Moon and transmitted some 86,326 images and data from our satellite (Surveyor 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7). Surveyor 2 and 4, however, crashed on the Moon.
