Wooden frame with glass insert (28cm x 22cm) depicting the two Pioneer 10 (launched on 2 March 1972) and Pioneer 11 (launched on 5 April 1973), featuring the design of the plaque intended for potential extraterrestrial life, and three small gilded brass plaques depicting the drawing of a naked man and woman by Carl Sagan, in case the probe were to fall into the hands of extraterrestrials. One for the first mission to Jupiter, one for the first mission to Saturn, both bearing the name of the probe’s manufacturer, TRW1.
