Set of 2 envelopes (USA) featuring a photograph of the appointment of the American crew for the Apollo-Soyuz mission on 30 January 1973, and a second envelope with a colour photograph of the crews, postmarked on the day of the launch. 16.5 cm × 9 cm. Apollo-Soyuz (ASTP, or Apollo-Soyuz Test Project) was the very first joint space mission between the Soviet Union and the United States, which took place from 15 July to 24 July 1975. On the American side, the crew consisted of astronauts Donald Slayton, Thomas Stafford and Vance Brand. On the Russian side, astronauts Alexei Leonov and Valery Kubasov completed the crew.
