The Gmc tipper remains a rare collector's model. Less produced than its troop transport counterpart, the H1 version with its hydraulic tipper provided invaluable service to Us Army and Us Engineer units.
Mainly produced as open cabs, a number of GMCs were fitted with tipping bodies as part of the Marschall plan to supply military equipment to the Allied armies, in view of the high demand and usefulness of these vehicles.
This example, in very good condition, came from the Norwegian army. The GMC rotates and rolls and will require an overhaul. The sheet metal cab, with its bakelite steering wheel and special dashboard, is as it was in early production. The instruction plates remain in the US version.
The hydraulic tipping body is original, with its wooden benches and sides, as well as its cab front protection. The original production plate from Hercules Steel in Ohio-Usa is present. The lever and opening system for the tipper door are functional.
This GMC tipper is a rare opportunity, as it is a less common model in the collection.
