EGYPTIAN POLYCHROME TERRACOTTA VASE WITH LOTUS BLOOMS, WAS-SCEPTRE AND ANKH.
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A terracotta vase with an elongated ovoid body tapering towards a pointed base. The surface is painted in blue, black, and red pigments on a reddish-orange ground. The upper section is encircled by a register of lotus buds, bordered by horizontal bands. Below, the central register displays a large ankh sign flanked by a was-sceptre and a djed pillar, with lotus blossoms on either side. For similar see: The Brooklyn Museum, Accession Number 25.858.
