EGYPTIAN PAINTED STUCCO PANEL WITH A MALE DIGNITARY. New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A painted stucco panel with the head and upper body of a man depicted in profile to the left. He wears a close-fitting garment and holds a sechem staff diagonally across the chest. The staff identifies the man as a high-ranking dignitary. The face and arm are rendered in red, with the wig in black and details in grey and red against a pale ground. The pigments have retained a rare vibrant hue. In a wooden frame behind glass.
