STUNNING EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE STELOPHOROUS STATUE WITH INSCRIBED STELA. New Kingdom, Ca. 1294 - 1250 BC. A limestone stelophorous statue of a kneeling man on an integral base, wearing a long skirt and supporting a tall rounded stela in front of him. The surface of the stela is carved with eight horizontal lines of a hymn to the sun god. Traces of red pigment remain on the body.
