SUPERB EGYPTIAN STONE PIRIFORM JAR. New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A stone piriform jar with a thick, rounded rim above a short neck and a tapering body, with a pair of pierced lug handles at the shoulder. For similar see: C. Lillyquist, Egyptian Stone Vessels, f. 147, appendix 2. Size: 180mm x 100mm; Weight: 605g Provenance: UK private collection; Germany acquisition; ex G. Metz collection, Sweden (1980s–1990s).
