RARE SYRO-EGYPTIAN BRONZE STATUETTE OF A LION. Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A bronze statuette of a lion standing on a rectangular integral base. The animal is cast with a long, slender body, straight legs, and large paws. The head has an open mouth, a rounded muzzle, large eyes, and short ears. Incised lines mark the mane. Size: 110mm x 40mm; Weight: 765g Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired in France; formerly with A.D. 1970s–1980s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
