EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURINE OF OSIRIS. Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A bronze figurine of seated mummiform Osiris with the arms crossed and holding the crook (heka) and flail (nekhakha), wearing a long braided beard and the atef crown, with the White Crown of Upper Egypt flanked by two plumes and a uraeus rising at the front. The figure has tenons below for insertion. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 61.45. Size: 180mm x 40mm; Weight: 385g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier with F.A. in Brussels; originating from a Belgian collection formed circa 1970s–1990s. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
