Description
STUNNING EGYPTIAN BRONZE AND STONE FIGURINE OF IBIS. Late Period, Ca. 664 - 525 BC. A composite ibis with a rounded bronze head and long curving beak, the recessed eyes inlaid in blue. The neck joins an almond-shaped stone body tapering to a short tail with a dark blue inlay. The bronze legs are folded beneath the body and linked by a transverse strut, terminating in short integral tenons for insertion. For similar see: The Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, INV 10073.
