EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURINE OF DEIFIED ARCHITECT IMHOTEP. Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A bronze figurine of Imhotep seated, holding an unrolled papyrus across his lap. He is bare-chested, wearing a broad collar and a pleated kilt, with the hands resting at either end of the scroll. The figure is set on a rectangular base with a tenon below for insertion. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number EA63800; The Brooklyn Museum, Accession Number 36.623. Size: 110mm x 35mm; Weight: 170g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier with F.A. in Brussels; originating from a Belgian collection formed circa 1970s–1990s. This piece is accompanied by a statement from Lisa Sartini, Egyptologist PHD of Chimera Heritage Consultants. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
