EGYPTIAN BRONZE DAGGER WITH ROCK CRYSTAL POMMEL AND LAPIS LAZULI-INLAID GRIP. New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A bronze dagger with a long blade and a pronounced midrib, narrowing to a sharp point. The hilt flares towards the shoulders, with recessed compartments inlaid with lapis lazuli and a rock crystal pommel of flattened mushroom form. For similar see: Cairo Museum, Cat. JE 61585. Size: 350mm x 40mm; Weight: 210g Provenance: Private UK collection; ex Oxfordshire ancient art collection; ex Canadian collection, 1970s–2000. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
