EGYPTIAN BRONZE DAGGER WITH LUNAR BONE POMMEL. Second Intermediate Period to New Kingdom, Ca. 1790 - 1069 BC. A bronze dagger with a tapering blade cast with a central rib and converging edges to a pointed tip. The shoulders broaden to a crescentic guard, the grip enclosed by wooden panels. The hilt terminates in a bone pommel with two openings. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 11.150.16.
