RARE EGYPTIAN BRONZE CAT STATUETTE WITH GOLD EARRINGS - LARGE SIZE.
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A bronze cat statuette seated with the forelegs straight and the tail curled around the right side. The body is slender and elongated, with a high chest, tapering flanks, and an arched back. The head faces forward, with almond-shaped eye openings for inlay, a narrow muzzle, and drilled nostrils. Upright triangular ears are pierced and fitted with gold hoop earrings. Mounted on a modern base. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 26.2.38.
