RARE EGYPTIAN RED JASPER RING WITH CAT.
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A red jasper D-shaped ring with a rounded hoop and a rectangular bezel plate surmounted by a seated cat with its forepaws extended, the head facing forward with pointed ears and incised facial details. Four grooves mark the base of the hoop. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number EA54547. Size: D:18.14mm / US: 8 / UK: P 1/2; Weight: 15g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier circulating on the Belgium art market in the 1980s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
