LARGE EGYPTIAN ROCK CRYSTAL SCARAB. Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A rock crystal scarab with a convex back and a semi-circular head beneath a notched clypeus, the pronotum and elytra divided by double lines, the wing cases separated by three longitudinal lines, and the legs tucked beneath the body. The underside is flat and plain. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number EA65071. Size: 45mm x 30mm; Weight: 40g Provenance: Private collection, central London; acquired via the UK art market; previously in the Dolman Family Collection, 1930s-1940s This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
