Description
GREEK BLACK-FIGURE OINOCHOE WITH MAENADS.
Ca. 540 - 470 BC.
A black-figure oinochoe with an ovoid body tapering to a disc-shaped foot, a short neck below a trefoil mouth and a single strap handle. The front is painted with two seated maenads within a reserved panel framed by dotted borders. The shoulder is decorated with pendant strokes, and the neck is painted with dotted bands.
