LARGE GREEK LACONIAN BLACK-GLAZED COLUMN KRATER.
Ca. 550 - 450 BC. A black-glazed column krater with a globular body narrowing to a circular foot and a short neck below a broad mouth. The rim is set with a pair of upright column handles with flat tops. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 66.11.16, 96.9.117a, b. Size: 340mm x 305mm; Weight: 3kg Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier present on the German art market in the 1990s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
