EARLY GREEK CORINTHIAN BRONZE HELMET.
Ca. 600 - 500 BC. A bronze helmet with a rounded bowl, almond-shaped eye openings, and a long nose guard above a narrow central face opening. The sides descend to form broad cheekpieces, and the lower edge is slightly flared. For similar see: A. Bottini, M. Egg, F. W. von Hase, H. Pflug, H. Schaaf, P. Schauer, G. Waurik, Antike Helme, Mainz 1988, AB 11-12. Size: 240mm x 220mm; Weight: 1.26kg Provenance: London private collection; Previously in a UK art gallery in the 2010's; Ex Hans Stahl collection, Germany, 1980s-2000s. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
