Description
LARGE AND RARE HALLSTATT BRONZE STRAINER.
Ca. 1000 - 800 BC. A large bronze strainer with a broad flaring rim and a deep conical body. The lower section is pierced with dense rows of small, circular perforations. A zone below the rim is decorated in repousse with bosses and spirals, and a pair of loop handles rises from riveted attachments at either side. Size: 315mm x 200mm; Weight: 920g Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired on the German art market 1990's. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
