RARE ETRUSCAN BRONZE COMPLETE BELT. Ca. 800 - 600 BC. A bronze belt of hammered sheet, formed as a long rectangular band with a pair of zoomorphic hooks and openwork palmette plaques at one end. The edges are perforated for the attachment of a cloth or leather lining. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 1991.171.50. Size: 995mm x 90mm; Weight: 1.42kg Provenance: London private collection; Previously aquired on the German art market; Ex German collectoin 1990's. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
